Traditional Agriculture Being Reborn

Xinying, Guantian, Sinshih, Yongkang, Rende, the Tainan Technology Industrial Park, Heshun Industrial Zone, and Zongtouliao Industrial Zone were gradually established in response to changes in the city’s economic structure and the rapid growth of industrial and commercial activities.

In recent years, with the establishment of the Tainan Science Park and the southern branch of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the city has gradually transformed into a major industrial and technological hub. As factory buildings, residential communities, and businesses continue to expand, along with a growing transient population, the Tainan City Police Department has placed greater emphasis on preventing and controlling gambling, violence, pornography, and other public security issues.

Metropolitan Areas Hiding Security Concerns

After the Sinshih District became home to the Southern Taiwan Science Park, the influx of residents brought regional prosperity; however, it also introduced new security challenges.

Both Anping and Xinying Districts host municipal government offices, financial institutions, and other key establishments. As a result, protests and demonstrations have become more frequent, raising concerns over public security.

The East and West Central Districts are commercial centers with thriving economies, where incidents such as theft and robbery may occur. In contrast, districts such as Baihe, Dongshan, Danei, Yujing, Nansi, Nanhua, and Longci have relatively low visitor traffic, making them potential targets for criminal activities that may disrupt public order.
